Mr. Masdar Laselli from Masamba, South Sulawesi
Initially, Mr. Masdar was a farmer, and like farmers in general, fertilizer was the main requirement for producing quality crops. However, Mr. Masdar had difficulty finding fertilizer in his village then.
“The difficulty in finding fertilizer encouraged me to open a fertilizer shop. I think this is a solution for farmers in my village. By opening this business, the farmers in my village will have no difficulty growing crops, and this is also a business opportunity with good prospects,” he continued.
“First, before opening a business, I discussed it with my wife and extended family. After they all agreed, I prepared the funds. At that time, I had prepared Rp100 million to start the business. After the funds were ready, I surveyed, looking for distributors of fertilizers and shopping. Then, I prepare a place for my business. Apart from that, I still need to arrange business licenses and payments to fertilizer distributors,” recalled Mr. Masdar.
Mr. Masdar’s journey in running a business was filled with ups and downs, just like life, which always gives us many lessons.
Mr. Masdar also fosters good customer relationships and keeps his business running well. He often implements a down payment system, allowing farmers to pick up fertilizer at his shop first and let them pay it off after the harvest.
These little things brought many blessings and allowed Mr. Masdar’s business to survive and run successfully until now. This is evident from his monthly turnover, which reaches hundreds of millions of rupiahs. He can transport more than 20 tons of fertilizer daily during the harvest.
“Hopefully, KSP Sahabat Mitra Sejati can continue to help other members with business capital. Of course, it is also my hope that with the support of KSP Sahabat Mitra Sejati, my business can continue and grow,” said Mr. Masdar while closing the conversation with the editorial team.
