Mr. Busri started by doing retail selling and was only selling a single variety of banana, now Mr. Busri’s business has grown exponentially. Currently he is already known as a banana distributor in his hometown, Samarinda. The success of a business was affected by good relations with everyone. Without it , any kind of business will be hard to grow. Good relations with the locals, even with his old friends, were the main factors of the business’ success. A couple of big hospitals in Samarinda have been Mr. Busri’s customers for a while. Hence, his bananas are regular foods for the patients in those hospitals.
There are ups and downs in running the business. Mr. Busri have been lied to by his customers. Once he received rotten bananas from his orders. The rainy season is often an obstacle to Mr. Busri. His supplier needs to go through a forest to reach Mr. Busri’s location. The roads to the farmer’s location are not paved so it is impassable if it was raining. His wish to buy a truck was finally fulfilled. In 2014 Mr. Busri join as member of KSP Sahabat Mitra Sejati and he got a business loan from KSP SMS. This chance was not wasted by Mr. Busri and used to accelerate his business. Truck is useful to transport bananas every time he needs to send orders to Kaliurang on rainy day. “I hope Sahabat UKM would still willing to help us, especially for small businessmen like me,” said Mr. Busri ending the conversation.
