Ahmad Rifani from Kuala Kapuas
Mr. Ahmad’s success story is not as smooth and easy as one might imagine. Before reaching a daily turnover of tens of millions, Mr. Ahmad experienced ups and downs in pioneering his business. The move of his house from Palingkau to Kuala Kapuas to approach the market was one of the toughest decisions Mr. Ahmad has ever taken. Once there have also been complaints from his neighbors because they feel disturbed by the smell of the chicken he sells.
This story begins with Mr. Ahmad’s experience in raising tens to hundreds of chickens. Up to hundreds of chickens he raised were infected by a lethal disease, thus they can not be sold. Upon this incident, Mr. Ahmad changed course. Currently Mr. Ahmad no longer raises chicken, but he buys ready-to-cut broilers instead. Mr. Ahmad started to build a broiler business with only a few chickens. Starting from 10 chickens per day, now his business reaches 1,000 chickens per day.
The success in selling broiler made Mr. Ahmad eager to look for a new business to supplement his income. By that time his daily turnover reaches 2,000 – 3,000 chickens. It makes Mr. Ahmad claims to be the largest broiler trader in Kuala Kapuas.
Mr. Ahmad tries another opportunity through fish. He utilized a land located 9 km from his house to be made into fish ponds. As the result, as many as 70-80 thousand catfish seedlings are successfully been harvested every 6 months.
Not satisfied with the two businesses he runs, there arose a desire to invest in assets for Mr. Ahmad. In 2014 Mr. Ahmad applied for a loan to KSP Sahabat Mitra Sejati and was immediately approved. His desire to buy another land and build shop houses has come true.
Mr. Ahmad’s venture in running several business fields has completed. With this new shop house, Mr. Ahmad tries to build a home industry of cakes and bread, which is currently managed by his first child.
